Binge Eating Disorder Treatment
Binge eating disorder is the uncontrolled eating of large amounts of food.
Binge eating disorders usually map in the brain like an addiction. They also involve attention disorder and low self-esteem, and can include mood disorders or obsessive compulsive disorder.
Cause:
Like an addiction, binge eating disorder is in the subconscious part of your brain. That’s why you can’t just talk yourself out of it, any more than you can stop yourself from sneezing.
Treatment:
For most people, treating attention disorder is particularly essential to recovery (which explains why stimulants used for attention disorders are also used to treat binge eating disorder). LORETA neurofeedback decreases the incidence of binging and purging and usually requires 10 to 20 sessions for significant progress.
Specifics:
Binge eating disorder usually maps in the brain like an addiction combined with an attention disorder. Treatment often requires treatment of any concurrent attention disorder as well as any mood disorder or OCD. Without treatment of the attention disorder, most people will not recover.
Preparation:
Please read the section on “how to prepare for your session”. Your hair must be clean and dry. You must remove everything you can from your head and neck and preferably clothes and other parts of your body.
