Addictions / Substance Abuse Treatment

Addictions/Substance Use

The addicted brain has an “imprinted” absolute need for a drug or substance. This need is so strong that you suffer “withdrawal” symptoms if you don’t get that substance. LORETA treatment can temporarily reduce the “need” for drugs or alcohol, making it an effective addition to other substance abuse treatment programs.

Addictions are in the subconscious part of your brain. Even though you don’t want to have your addiction, you can’t just talk yourself out of it, any more than you can stop sneezing. Addictions can destroy an addict’s life and the lives of those around them.

The treatment of addictions is almost always multifaceted, including family or partner therapy, talking therapy, rehabilitation, medication, and the development of healthy passions (getting addicted to things that benefit you, like faith or a hobby or vocation).

LORETA neurofeedback can temporarily reduce the “need” for the drug or alcohol. LORETA can also improve recovery rates by treating accompanying conditions like traumatic brain injury, PTSD, OCD, anxiety, and depression. My treatment should be used in conjunction with other treatment programs.

Please read the section on “how to prepare for your session”. Your hair must be clean and dry. You must remove everything you can from your head and neck and preferably clothes and other parts of your body.
